I received a message from the boss himself where he asks me if I’m not tired of working. Don’t I think that I should rather resign. He will arrange a farewell and work out a package for me. I’m 54. I loved my work and politely declined. The response was that I must remember that he is the one that pays my salary not CCMA. Unfortunately two weeks later went Ice skating, fell and broke my wrist. I received an email from HR that morning, just after 8 am, on the day I return must remember to fill in the form that must be submitted with the Dr’s note. That afternoon I saw the email that came from HR but was in pain and already took strong pain tablets. So I didn’t bother because it would have made not difference. I fell asleep before I could register that the header read Dismissal as of immediate affect. Is this unfair dismissal or automatic unfair dismissal? My appointment is later today.
