KeymasterMy Boss INSULTS me!
I have only been back to work for a week and I cannot take it anymore. My boss shouts at me and insults me all the time. I don’t know what’s his problem as I am doing my work to the best of my ability.

KeymasterMy Boss INSULTS me!
I’m really sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this. Here are some steps you can take:- Document Everything: Keep a record of all incidents, including dates, times, what was said or done, and any witnesses. This documentation can be crucial if you need to escalate the issue.
- Understand Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with South African labor laws. The Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Employment Equity Act are good places to start.
- Speak to HR: If your company has a Human Resources department, report the behavior to them. They are there to help resolve workplace issues.
- Seek Support: Talk to a trusted colleague, friend, or family member about what you’re experiencing. Sometimes, just having someone to listen can make a big difference and they could provide you with specific advice for that applicable circumstances that is invaluable.
- Consider Mediation: If direct confrontation feels too daunting, mediation might be a good option. A neutral third party can help facilitate a conversation between you and your boss. The parties would need to agree to such arrangement.
- Legal Advice: If the situation doesn’t improve, consider seeking legal advice. This matter may need to be referred to the CCMA as a dispute especially if your boss is trying to get you to resign.
Remember, you deserve to work in a respectful and supportive environment.
