I worked for a company from 01/06/2016 and got dismissed on 29/07/2024. I have been trying to claim my UIF ever since. I submitted my claim online, but I was told it was rejected. After numerous phone calls and endless visits to the labour centre I was told the company had captured and incorrect start date on my UI19. the company captured that I started working on 31/11/2016, which on this date I was starting my maternity leave, this is the date captured. The company has no direct contact to HR we rely on emails; I have sent a number of emails but there has been no response in resolving the matter. It is now 2026 and the labour centre maintains that it can’t assist without the proper information, which is fair and understandable as that is the process. My question is how I get the company to correct the mistake so I can claim. are there any legal steps I can take any forums that can assist me with the claim.
